If you know Axess Systems, you’ll know we’re constantly looking to stay on top of our Citrix knowledge, so we can provide better services to our customers. In that spirit, our team recently went to New Orleans for Citrix Unite – Citrix’s annual kick-off event for sales and partners.
There was plenty of big news coming out of the event that we thought you’d like to hear about. So, in late March, we held a webinar going over key learnings.
Here’s a quick recap of what we covered – and what it means for you.
Webinar Recap
The webinar was hosted by Gabrielle Wright (Marketing Manager, Axess Systems), with panellists Kris Haynes (Presales Manager, Axess Systems) and Ben Cuppello (Director, Account Technology Strategists, Citrix).
It began with a question to Ben about why the Citrix Unite event matters for Citrix. He highlighted that, with various acquisitions and wider technological changes, things have rapidly evolved for Citrix and Unite is key to helping them and partners like Axess Systems stay aligned.
He also mentioned what would be a recurring theme throughout the webinar and the Unite event itself – the movement of Citrix into being the number one platform for secure application access.
Big Announcements from Citrix Unite 2025 – What You Need to Know
This moved to a discussion of some of the key announcements from the Unite event.
Each announcement at the event focused on three key strategies: developing core technologies, strategic acquisitions, and new partnerships.
Two of the biggest partnership announcements were with NVIDIA and Google Chrome. Citrix’s partnership with NVIDIA builds on its previous work with graphics processing unit (GPU)-enhanced desktops. Now, Citrix will also help deliver NVIDIA’s AI-focused workstations.
Citrix also announced a partnership with Google to bring Chrome Enterprise Premium to its platform, enabling Citrix apps to run on it.
Furthermore, Citrix Unite 2025 celebrated flagship acquisitions including Unicon, UberAgent, and deviceTRUST.
Expert Insights from the Webinar Panel
Kris talked about the new acquisitions and partnerships, noting that customers are slowly seeing Citrix as more than just its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) products. Ben agreed, linking the change to a strong effort to shift Citrix’s brand image away from being seen as a “legacy vendor.”
“In the changing world, we need to focus on other things: zero trust network access, new use cases, particularly the development of AI-centric applications.”
And speaking of that changing world, Citrix Unite also provided the perfect opportunity for our panellists to discuss their predictions for the future of cloud computing and VDI.
Ben observed that, even with the ongoing excitement about cloud migration, the true value lies in a hybrid approach. This lets consumers pick the solution that works best for them.
“It shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. It should be a case of the right solution to the right problem.”
AI also got a mention, as Ben reflected on discussions he had with incoming Citrix colleagues on the increased use of AI among a younger generation of workers. They also talked about the security issues this might cause.
Implications for IT Leaders and Business Strategy

Ben’s key point was that customers should engage with their partners during the entire technology lifecycle – not just at renewal time. Doing so helps them get the most value from their investments.
Kris echoed that sentiment, urging users to look into services such as our Citrix health checks, and license assessments or training workshops to see how they can explore Citrix’s broader capabilities.
Citrix software’s constantly improving, so staying current matters. Our experts were great in helping our users to do that, and we thank them for their time!
